For coding agents

Tell your agent to add a form. It does the rest.

Formward gives Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and any other MCP client a form backend they can set up end to end: create the form, paste the snippet, add a webhook, send a test. Hosted in the EU, approved by you, and with no read access to what your visitors submit.

Three steps, one approval

  1. 01

    Create a pairing code

In your Formward dashboard, open AI agents and create a code. It is single use and expires after 10 minutes.

  2. 02

    Hand it to your agent

Run npx @formward/mcp pair with the code in your project. The claim appears in the dashboard within seconds; you approve it.

  3. 03

    Ask for a form

The agent creates the form, fetches the snippet for your framework, edits your page, sends a test submission and confirms the count.

npx @formward/mcp pair ABCD-EFGH
claude mcp add formward -- npx -y @formward/mcp

What the agent can do

  • Create forms from your description or from a template, with or without a hosted page
  • Fetch paste-ready markup for HTML, React, Vue, Svelte, Astro, Next.js, Nuxt, Tailwind, Shopify or Webflow
  • Add Slack, Discord or generic webhooks where your plan includes them
  • Send a test submission and check that the count went up

What it cannot do

  • Read submission content: no tool or scope returns it (a webhook it adds does receive future submissions, so review its destinations)
  • Reach any workspace other than the one you paired it with
  • Change billing, team members or account settings
  • Keep access past 30 days without pairing again, or past the moment you revoke it

Why agents and Formward fit

A form needs a backend, spam filtering, notifications and a place to read the messages. An agent can write the HTML in seconds but cannot run a server for you. Formward is that server: a single endpoint per form, hosted in Sweden, with the GDPR paperwork published. The agent wires it up; you keep the data and the approval. Read how Formward handles form data.

Questions

Which agents work with Formward?
Any client that speaks the Model Context Protocol: Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code agents and others. The @formward/mcp package runs the server locally; MCP clients that can call an HTTP endpoint with a bearer token can also use formward.eu/api/v1/mcp directly.
Can the agent read my form submissions?
Not directly: no tool or scope on an agent key returns submission content, only counts, so the agent can confirm a test arrived while the content stays in your dashboard. One thing to know: a webhook the agent adds receives future submissions like any webhook you add yourself, so check the form's webhook list after a setup run, as you would review any change it made.
Do I need a paid plan?
No. Pairing is part of every plan, including Free. The forms the agent creates follow your plan's limits, so features such as file uploads or webhooks need the plan that includes them, exactly as in the dashboard.
How long does the agent keep access?
The key lives 30 days and is pinned to the workspace that approved it. You can revoke it at any time from the same page, and every pairing shows up in the audit log with the agent's name and host.
Is this a data transfer under GDPR?
Not on Formward's side: the agent talks to the same EU-hosted API as the dashboard and never receives submission content. It does see form metadata such as names, fields, notification addresses and webhook URLs, and most coding agents forward tool results to their model provider. Whether that provider belongs in your records depends on the agent you chose, exactly as for any other tool you give it.
