Acceptable Use & Anti-Spam Policy

Last updated: 2026-06-22

This Acceptable Use & Anti-Spam Policy (the "Policy") governs your use of Formward (the "Service") and forms part of our Terms of Service. It applies to everyone who uses the Service, and to every form you point at a Formward endpoint. A serious or repeated breach of this Policy is a breach of the Terms and may result in suspension or termination of your account, with or without notice.

1. What Formward is, and is not

Formward is a form backend: it receives submissions from the HTML forms on your own website, stores them in the EU, and sends you a transactional notification to the address you configured. The Service is not a bulk-email platform, a newsletter tool, or a mass-mailing relay. Our outbound email exists only to notify you (and recipients you have verified) that a submission arrived.

2. Anti-spam rules

You must not use the Service to:

  • send unsolicited bulk or commercial email, newsletters, or marketing campaigns through Formward's notification or autoresponder system;
  • configure a notification or recipient address that you do not own or are not authorised to receive email on behalf of;
  • use the autoresponder or any reply feature to send content unrelated to the submission that triggered it, or to message people who did not submit your form;
  • harvest email addresses, or deploy a form whose purpose is to collect contacts for unsolicited outreach;
  • disguise or forge the origin of a submission, or relay submissions on behalf of a third party to evade these rules.

You are responsible for having a lawful basis (for example, consent under the GDPR/ePrivacy rules) to collect the personal data your forms gather, and for honouring any opt-out or erasure request from the people who submit them.

3. Prohibited content and conduct

You must not use the Service to collect, store, process, or transmit:

  • content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, fraudulent, or that infringes another party's intellectual-property or privacy rights;
  • phishing pages, malware, or otherwise deceptive or malicious content;
  • content that incites violence or hatred, or that sexually exploits or endangers minors;
  • special-category personal data (GDPR Art. 9) without implementing the safeguards and lawful basis required by applicable law.

4. Security and integrity

You must not:

  • probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach or circumvent any authentication, rate-limit, origin allowlist, or spam filter;
  • submit forms at a volume or rate designed to abuse the Service, exhaust resources, or degrade performance for others;
  • scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service by automated means except through your own API key within its documented limits;
  • attempt to access another user's account, data, or any non-public part of the Service.

Found a vulnerability? Report it responsibly to security@formward.eu rather than exploiting it.

5. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and cooperate with law enforcement where required. Depending on severity we may rate-limit, hold submissions, disable a feature, suspend, or terminate the account involved. Where the risk to others or to the Service is serious, we may act immediately and without prior notice. We will restore access once the issue is resolved where it is appropriate to do so.

6. Reporting abuse

If you believe a Formward form or notification is being used to spam, phish, or otherwise abuse you or others, report it to abuse@formward.eu with any evidence (headers, URLs, timestamps). We review every report.

7. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
